How Tara Bala Works
What Is Tara Bala?
Tara Bala (तारा बल) is an ancient Vedic technique that determines nakshatra auspiciousness based on position from your birth nakshatra. The 27 nakshatras divide into 9 groups of 3, each representing a different "Tara" influence.
The 9 Tara Cycle
Starting from your birth nakshatra, every nakshatra falls into one of 9 categories: Janma → Sampat → Vipat → Kshema → Pratyak → Sadhak → Vadha → Mitra → Ati Mitra, then repeats through all 27.
How to Use Tara Bala
- Muhurta Selection — Choose days when the Moon transits favorable Taras
- Travel Planning — Avoid journeys during Vipat or Vadha transits
- Important Activities — Schedule work during Sampat, Kshema, or Mitra days
